Your essence has left clues to the trail of your true self 💗
One of the gifts I treasure so much about aging is that we have the opportunity to look back on our lives and find ever-growing clues into our essence…
…to notice the themes and throughlines…
…the things we have naturally felt drawn to, not because they were trending or because somebody told us it was the right thing to do or because we felt like we needed to in order to belong or avoid disapproval.
But because we just felt an inexplicable pull to immerse ourselves in it, to surround ourselves with it, to touch it, to feel it, to know and be known by it.
In other words, some part of it simply seemed like home.
For many of us, it is a feeling — a softening, an opening, an upliftment, a nourishment, a palpable song in our heart that hums “yes, more of this!”
Of course, in a noisy world with so many messages coming at us about who we should or shouldn’t be, what is appropriate or inappropriate, what will reward us or not, what others will approve of or not —
— it can be easy to get off course, to fall out of alignment, to lose touch, to collect more evidence of what doesn’t feel right.
That too can be so beneficial if we use it for refining our clarity into what does.

If you are so moved, this is simply some loving encouragement to have fun reflecting and noticing:
– What/who are the kinds of people, activities, colors, textures, environments, books, etc. that have, without prompting from others, beckoned to you throughout your life?
Perhaps you want to make a list of ten things that quickly come to you. (I’ll do the same below…)
– How do you feel when in, with, or around them?
– How are they mirrors into your authentic self?
What a treasure it is to find the things, the people, the spaces, and the pursuits that feel like havens where we not only remember – but become more of – who we genuinely are…
…that help us create lives where our outsides match our insides…
…and then to fill our lives with more and more of these very things.

10 things I’ve felt drawn to throughout my life
(Giving myself just 1 minute to notice what first leaps into my awareness)
Creating and creativity
Heart-centered connections
Color
Purpose and contribution
Spirituality
Writing
Feelings and expressions of kindness, hope, inspiration, possibility, love, gratitude
Warm
Personal Growth
Bringing people together
I could keep going, but I’ll stop there.
And to me, this is not a one time exercise.
It is a daily living, breathing meditation — an ongoing conversation we get to have with our lives…
…to notice what we love, what lights us up, what enlivens our souls…
…and simply do more of that.
Sending mega love as you notice the wonderful clues your own dear essence has left on the trail to your true self.
And, of course, I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically welcome hearing anything on your list too! 💕
Abundant Love and Joy,
